 | Bright Future FoundationBright Future Foundation was founded in 1983 in the basement of the Vail Chapel with the mission of prevention and intervention of domestic violence. The Bright Future Foundation Empowers individuals and families affected by domestic violence and sexual assault to lead safe productive lives through prevention services, advocacy, crisis intervention and recovery services. Their aid programs include: Buddy Mentors Program, Advocates Against Assault, Transitional Housing, Youth Advocacy Programs, Parenting Classes, and Freedom Ranch Safehouse; Eagle County’s first and only safehouse and emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.  | Buddy Werner LeagueBuddy Werner was an internationally renowned alpine ski racer who was a member of the Olympic Alpine Team in 1956, 1960 and 1964. Buddy was America's first true world class ski racer. A native of Steamboat Springs, Buddy had a breakneck style which caused spectacular spills, but also enabled him to win virtually every championship available during his mercurial career. When Buddy wasn't racing, he would gather up the local youth and bring them to the mountain to teach them about ski racing. The Buddy Werner Race League pays tribute to his legend by providing a recreational race program that strengthens young skiers grades 2nd - 8th. Participants will have the opportunity to ski with coaches and others in their age group and ability level for ten days in Beaver Creek. Each non-race day the coaches speak to our skiers about one of the following themes: Safety, Sportsmanship, teamwork, Integrity, Hard Work, Adventure and Humility. They tie these themes into the sport of skiing and racing. Over 100 participants of the Girls Mountain Bike Program learn about determination and overcoming stress or obstacles in their everyday lives. The Cycle Effect removes financial and cultural barriers to make mountain biking accessible for lower income 5th-12th grade girls. 100% of the girls that have graduated from the program have gone to college, many being the first in their family.  | Eagle Valley Behavior HealthIn the wake of mountain towns across the west being labeled as part of the “suicide belt” coupled with a 360% rise in local emergency room visits for anxiety and depression since 2013, Eagle County reached a tipping point in 2017 when the suicide rate jumped from six to sixteen lives in just one year. It was time for the community as a whole to address the behavioral health crisis.  | HomeCare & Hospice of the ValleyHomeCare and Hospice of the Valley is the only locally owned non-profit provider of HomeCare and Hospice services. They will work with all insurances to obtain as much coverage as possible for our services. We are committed to serving patients regardless of their insurance. Their mission is to improve the quality of life for patients and their families who are facing a life-limiting illness by addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. They do this by providing three core areas of service to patients and their families who reside in any of the local communities in the Roaring Fork, Colorado, Crystal, and Eagle River Valleys. Their Home Health services provides care for individuals with diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, cancer, heart disease, strokes, extensive and complicated wound care, as well as diabetes management.  | The Literacy ProjectThe mission of the Literacy Project is to empower Eagle Valley community members of all ages by offering free assistance in acquiring the English literacy skills they need to function more effectively in their daily lives.  | Red Ribbon ProjectRed Ribbon Project (RRP) started in 1996 as a nonprofit with the hopes of building HIV/AIDS awareness. Over time, the focus evolved to educating youth about HIV/AIDS prevention strategies. Their mission is "We promote healthier lives by empowering the community to reduce teen pregnancy, HIV/AIDS and other STIs". RRP impacts youth with powerful mentorship and interaction that inspires self-confidence and healthy decision making. The common theme in all of their efforts is that they jump in to keep kids safe and aware of the consequences of risky behavior, and we lift them up through opportunities for character development.  | Swift EagleThe Swift Eagle Charitable Foundation is a grass roots nonprofit founded in 2004 by nineteen longtime locals. Its mission is to provide swift financial assistance to Eagle County residents for living and personal expenses during times of crisis or hardship. In an area where the cost of living is at least 20% higher than the national average and the average weekly income is almost 20 % lower than the national average, it’s often difficult when a crisis disrupts life to recover and regain self-sufficiency on one’s own. Over the last ten years hundreds of individuals and families have received grants from Swift Eagle totaling close to $900,00, paid towards rent, mortgage, utilities, and dental and eye care under certain conditions. Swift Eagle is an all volunteer organization, so monies donated go to those in need rather than salaries and overhead expenses. As a local nonprofit, the foundation collaborates with many other agencies, but is also uniquely structured to respond more quickly than many, especially in emergency situations. SwiftEagle.org |
 | SummerQuestThe missions of SummerQuest is to give students the opportunity to enjoy educational success and help them establish a sound academic and social foundation for high school instruction. SummerQuest operates under the umbrella of Vail Mountain School which is a 501(c)3 non-profit. Students attending this program are identified by their 5th grade teachers as having talent, but in need of skill remediation. 10 staff and 36 students in 6th-8th grade participate in SummerQuest for the month of July and it is free of tuition to the students.  | Team Leo Animal RescueThis animal rescue has saved over 750 animals from all circumstances such as abuse, abandonment, volatile living situations, hoarding, puppy mills, and high kill shelters. They focus on special needs dogs, disabled dogs, senior dogs, and may just needing some extra time to find their forever family. They also work with Eagle County families that have adopted dogs from other organizations who need extra socialization and training.  | Vail Veterans ProgramThrough rehabilitative sports and recreation activities the Vail Veterans Program helps to rebuild confidence and provide a sense of freedom from catastrophic injuries including: loss of multiple limbs, severe burns, spinal cord injuries, post-traumatic stress syndrome, and traumatic brain injuries. The Vail Veterans Program is provided free of charge to wounded warriors and their families giving them much needed time away from the hospital and offering them hope for the future.
